Avoid using anything as a barrier between yourself and visitors to your booth.  Many people either use their body language to act as a barrier, crossing your arms in front of you, or put an 8' table across the front of the booth space.  The idea is to invite visitors in to your booth to qualify them as a lead...if they can't get in, they will continue walking.  Make your booth inviting, giving visitor a reason to come in to your space.  Put giveaways and literature in your booth rather than on the aisle.
